rubber an live up to 6 years and still able to produce decent spin so not sure about that lol.. depends on how often you switch rubbers.

Well for the 3-6 months I usually use a sheet of rubber, EEII seems to have a consistent effect for that timespan.

If you keep your rubbers for 6 years, high performance probably isn't your main criteria.

very true but most people I know buy rubbers once in 1-2 years.

When You treated your rubbers with ecolo, do you think it's a good idea to still prime the sponge with normal glue and leave it overnight?

Or just put on enough layers to make the rubber stick? This is in the case of not re-gluing.

Good question!

I would think the only reason to prime is for speed glueing. However gluing or priming the rubber a few times CAN make the rubber play a little better, and is commonly done...

So I guess it certainly won't hurt...

I always prime the rubber after using ECOLO Expander with 3-4 layers of glue and leave overnight to let it shrink back down.

The extra glue helps the rubber stick, just as with tensor rubbers.

I also think the rubber feels better with more glue in it.

Well, I used two layers of EE2 on some cream mrs, and so far, I like how it feels. The only problem is that I've never used cream mrs before so I don't know whether I just like the rubber, or whether the EE2 is having an effect...probably both  So, if I'm correct in assuming that more layers of EE2 equals more effect, then could one put on a couple layers and glue it up, and then if you wanted more speed take it off and add another layer? Have any of you guys tried this?

yes it will keep imporving the effect, but you're risking dislodging the topsheet from the sponge (as you would be adding too many layers of speed glue too). I don't add more than 2 layers, which already gives a very good dome...justr following other people advice...

I also find that after the EEII treatment the sponge seems to be more responsive to speedglue.

yeah, I don't want to overdue it with this stuff...I've actually been thinking about trying it on some LKT Pro XT because I've heard good things about the rubber, but most people say it needs speed glue to be any good. Since I don't speedglue do you think that the EE2 would give it enough speed? It does have a very soft sponge, and responds well to glue, so I'm hoping that the EE2 would have more of an effect on it.

I put EE II on BTY Takifire SP Soft in January and it is now beginning to wear off. It added needed speed and decent spin as well, maybe a little more speed than spin. I put it on a used sheet. At first the old glue and the EE II made a gooey mess on the sponge. I rolled a few sheets of paper accross and peeled all that stuff off. Had a heck of a time getting the sheet to adhere to the blade. I had to glue it several times and put it in a press to get it to stick on worth anything. All in all, this stuff beets the pants off of gluing - the expense, the hassle, the vapors, the bulk...

Thanks Der_Echte! Welcome to the forum!

That must be why they recommend you use it on a new sheet :D

If I had a dollar for every economizing thing in my life I did like using EE II on the used sheet, instead of buying a new sheet, I would have a pretty decent stable financial position and could travel the world on just a portion of the capital gains from investing it all and be an über EJ. 8)

Heh, I did the same thing on an old sheet of 999, it took me forever to get all the gooey gunk off it. Next time, I'll definitely remove the old glue build up  It did dome up nicely though, I have to try it out soon.

I'm 18 hrs in to applying EEII onto a new sheet of Sriver G2FX 2.1mm.

Do you normally wait for the sheet to dry completely before applying another layer? Or just apply another layer 24 hrs later?

I've put 2 layers on so far, about 12 hrs apart. The sheet hasn't dried completely, but the EEII has absorbed in and the sponge is just oily now.

I found they soak up the EEII within 6 hours, after which I put on the next coat. I have not been keen to put on more than 2 layers, too worried it will dislodge the topsheet.
