how much does this stuff soften the spoge in comparison to glue?

asr1990

You can compare the softening of SEB tuning with three layers of Rapid Clean.

I use as many layers till there's a huge dome. Then I start to tune the topsheet till the rubber has flatten.

interesting, you would even tune the topshseet of something as sticky as hurricane. Wouldn't this make a mess? And if not, does this change the characteristics of your topsheet? More/less sticky, throw angle, speed, control...

But if you expand the topsheet too, it probably takes much less time before you can stick it on the blade, so it won't take as much time to tune a rubber. Right?

o, and one other question: if you tune with stiga extreme booster, can you glue it on the blade with falco water glue? Cause this seems like the best ordinary water glue (price/easy to use).

My current experiment:
CTE on the sponge and Olive Oil on the topsheet (used mendo MP, used Bryce FX and used PF4). The oil expands the topsheet and negates the dome completely, softens the topsheet and seems to increase the tackiness of the PF4 that somewhat. And also the grippiness of the two others.
Not played these rubbers yet.......

does the SEB leave a residue on the topsheet or does it completely dry and you can't see it?

many thanks......asr1990

Hey philippe

I tuned my black GLOBE 999 National with six layers on the spong and about three layers on the topsheet. When the rubber finally was flatten the throw angle is the same as before. Tackiness is a bit higher. The result of the tuning with SEB is more power and feel from mid and long distance. Counter looping with the tuned 999 is quite easy and control is very good.

You are right. For me it's important to tune both sides of the rubber. That's important to get the same throw angle as before.

I stick the rubber with a normal glue like JOOLA Zoom or BTY Fair Chack. I've never used water glues.

There's a thin residue on the topsheet. I remove it with some solvent and clean the rubber with a wash lotion. The feel without the residue is more directly and you get a better feedback.

Martin,

it's much easier to use the water based glues like Andro Free Glue or Tibhar Clean Fix because they stick so much better and they can hold Extreme domes down so you don't have to tune to the topsheet to flatten the rubber!

Good idea :)

Is it easy to remove the glue before a new tuning?

Martin

it's easy to rub off just use a sponge with a bit of water and it rubs off extremely easy!
