As the title indicates, I feel like this blade is too fast for my playing level. This is my setup:

Blade: 729 BOMB C-pen
Forehand: 729 Cream MRS 2.2mm
Backhand: Gambler Four Kings 1.8mm

Since I have only been seriously playing the past 2 months, I'm thinking that it might be better for me to switch to a slower blade for more control and to develop my strokes better. I can perform the basic strokes, since I have been playing for quite a while (5.5 yrs) but as said before, I have only started playing seriously the past 2 months. I have heard about the Galaxy 960/961, 896, and the N series which are cheap yet good quality. I would be extremely grateful if you guys can tell me if my equipment is really too fast or that I just need to play more to improve my stroke consistency. I plan to play RPB though at the moment, I'm focused on single-sided penhold in order to get my basics down.

You can probably stand to improve stroke consistency very quickly through focused sessions, but if you really feel that the setup is somewhat hard to control, try your backhand rubber as the forehand rubber first -- the 1.8mm thickness will probably 'feel' better for on-table stroking. After you get some basics down pat, try them out on the thicker (2.2mm) sheet. :)

I think the setup is fine, no real need to start spending on equipment again.

Yes I agree with Yuzuki completely... The 2.2mm on the forehand might be a little too thick, but all in all it's not an uncontrollable setup, so I also think no need to spend more $$$... spend it on coaching/practice instead...
